SALVATION: GOD’S WAY Ephesians 2:8-9

Introduction: Since the beginning of time, man has been looking for reclamation from his blame and his transgressions. Since forever ago, there have been two different ways of looking for this reclamation: works and confidence. In Genesis 4, the initial two people that were naturally introduced to this world, Cain and Abel, preceded the presence of God to offer penances for their wrongdoings. Cain offered crafted by his hands, and he and his contribution were dismissed, Gen. 4:3, 5. Abel offered the blood of a guiltless substitute and he and his contribution were acknowledged, Gen. 4:4. Cain moved toward God based on his works; Abel moved toward God based on trust. Both of those men moved toward God since they were attracted to do as such by some need in their own hearts.

Mankind is naturally introduced to this world with a void. There is an unfilled spot inside the core of man that he is truly trying to fill. Individuals endeavor to make up for this shortcoming with a wide range of exercises. Some look to fill it with sex, medications, liquor, and different works of the tissue. Some look to make up for this shortfall with religion. Their works and self inflicted goodness helps them to have an improved outlook about themselves and scratches the profound tingle inside their spirits.

The historical backdrop of mankind is covered with transgression and religion. Both of these are the endeavors of individuals who are attempting to fill the vacancy inside their souls with something they can deliver. The issue with carrying on with an existence of transgression is that it generally finishes in death, Hell and everlasting partition from God. The issue with human religion and acts of kindness is that it generally finishes in death, Hell and interminable division from God.

The alcoholic, the medication someone who is addicted, the prostitute, the kid molester, the attacker, the killer, the hoodlum, and each and every sort of delinquent you need to make reference to is going to Hell. Be that as it may, so are individuals who are caught in the bogus religions of the world. Notwithstanding how genuine they might be in their conviction framework, the individuals who have just religion are made a beeline for Hell. Regardless of whether they are Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, Animist, Humanist, Atheist, Agnostic, Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Mormon, Jehovah's Witness, Seventh-Day Adventist, Baptist, or some other religion, non-religion or gathering, if the sum total of what they have is confidence in their framework, they are lost and set out toward judgment.

That is the reason the section before us is so significant today. In clear, brief language, the Apostle Paul spreads out God's method of salvation. This couple of refrains are among the most significant in the entire Bible. They educate precisely how individuals can be saved. They show us the Way, and the Wonder of salvation. These stanzas show all individuals, in all ages, in all spots, and in all religions, what they should know all together that they may be saved from their transgressions and from the flames of Hell.

I need to take these refrains and show you the facts that are uncovered here. At the point when these stanzas are fully trusted, they unmistakably uncover the method of salvation and how it is gotten. How about we look at these certainties together today as I lecture on the idea: Salvation: God's Way.

I. v. 8b-9 THE WAY OF SALVATION

(Sick. These stanzas are a rundown of all that Paul has said about salvation so far. These sections address the Lord's definitive assertion with respect to the method of salvation. These stanzas disclose to us how to be saved, and they determine what won't save the spirit. In these words, Paul discusses both the positive and the negative side of the method of salvation. Before we think about the positive side of salvation, we should think about the negative side.)

A. v. 9 The Negative Side Of Salvation – "Not of works in case any man should gloat." "works" alludes to "that which one attempts to do, a venture, an endeavor; any item whatever, anything achieved by hand, workmanship, industry, or brain; a demonstration, deed, thing done." This word talks about any human exertion that is acted with the expectation that it will get salvation for the one playing out the activity. As such, it alludes to strict works and deeds. Paul is disclosing to us that nobody will at any point be saved by any works they perform, paying little mind to how blessed those functions may show up, or the number of works they perform.

This goes against millennia of human reasoning, exertion and strict action. Man has consistently felt like he needed to have a section in his salvation. Hence, man has created a great many contending religions that depend on benevolent acts, selflessness or grandiosity to save the expert of that religion. That is the reason the antiquated Canaanites offered their kids to Moloch. That is the reason the old Phoenicians forfeited their sexual virtue to the god Baal and the goddess Ashtoreth. That is the reason the Hindus love cows, monkeys and snakes. That is the reason a mother in the wildernesses of Africa will give a child to a crocodile. That is the reason old local Americans adored nature.

The shared factor in these and any remaining artificial religions is works. Each religion conceived by man expects him to invest a type of energy to rehearse his religion and accomplish his salvation. It very well may be something he needs to offer up to satisfy his god. It very well may be some work of the tissue like absolution, great deeds, or self-discipline that he performs to win the blessing of his god. The truth of the matter is, man thinks he needs to procure his salvation.

That is the reason Adam and Eve looked to cover their exposure with fig leaves, Gen. 3:7. Their works were not adequate to the Lord, and when He appeared and faced them in their wrongdoings, He gave a covering to their transgressions in the structure or an honest penance, Gen. 3:21. Their works couldn't save them. Their wrongdoing was covered by beauty alone.

(Sick. A main assembling organization fostered another cake blend that necessary just water to be added. Tests were run, reviews were made, and the cake blend was discovered to be of better quality than the other blends accessible. It tasted great, it was not difficult to utilize, and it made a damp, delicate cake. The organization spent enormous amounts of cash on a promoting effort and afterward delivered the cake blend to the overall market. Yet, not many individuals purchased the new cake blend.

The organization then, at that point spent more cash on a review to discover why the cake blend didn't sell. In view of the consequences of this overview, the organization reviewed the blend, modified the recipe, and delivered the updated cake blend. The new cake blend necessitated that one add water, yet in addition an egg. It sold like hot cakes and is currently a main item in the field. The principal cake blend was simply too easy to possibly be reasonable. Individuals would not acknowledge it. The equivalent is valid for salvation by elegance.)

Paul reveals to us that works are prohibited from the cycle of salvation "in case any man should gloat." "brag" signifies, "to brilliance in a thing." Paul is disclosing to us that if a man were to procure his own salvation he would have the option to assume the acknowledgment for it. He would flaunt his accomplishment. He would set himself up as his own god and love himself.

If anybody somehow happened to make it to Heaven based on his own works, that individual would spend forever gloating about how he made it there. God's arrangement of salvation is something far various. God works salvation in us by effortlessness. He does it's anything but a way that He alone gets all the brilliance for each spirit that is saved.

Lovely people, you can never get to Heaven by your works. Notwithstanding what you do, you can never do what's necessary. Notwithstanding how great you attempt to be, you can never be adequate.

(Sick. A liberal evangelist once said that salvation resembles a frog falling into a huge milk can. The frog can't get out from the outset, so he continues kicking. In the wake of kicking for some time that frog transformed that milk into margarine and he bounced directly out.

The ramifications being, in the event that we make enough of an effort, we can be ensure our salvation by being true, by working harder and by sincerely attempting to satisfy God through our own decency. The truth of the matter is, regardless of how hard we work we won't ever have the option to save ourselves.)

(Sick. Envision that a plane conveying a title swimmer, a man who is a normal swimmer, and another who can't swim by any stretch of the imagination. The spot crashes in the sea 1000 miles from shore. The title swimmer tells the others, "Stay with me and I will get you out of this." So, they hit the water and begin to swim. The one who couldn't swim sinks and suffocates after only a couple short minutes. The normal swimmer keeps going about thirty minutes. The title swimmer swims for 24 hours, covering around 50 miles. However, eventually, he additionally falls flat and suffocates. That is a delineation of our strict endeavors. Regardless of how enthusiastically we attempt, we can never do what's needed or be sufficient to save ourselves from our transgressions. Aside from the finesse of God and the blood of Jesus, we are miserably damned.)

Regardless of the amount you completely change you, you can never delete your wrongdoing and blame God. Works are not the appropriate response; elegance is! (Sick. Rom. 3:25-28; 1 Cor. 1:26-21)

B. The Positive Side Of Salvation – "Through confidence" – If salvation doesn't come about because of being strict, being a decent individual, or doing beneficial things, where does salvation come from? Paul says it comes to us "through confidence." What is "confidence?" "confidence" alludes to "a conviction of the reality of something; conviction." Saving confidence is just going to where one accepts, with full confidence that everything the Bible says about Jesus is valid. That is it!

Salvation isn't the aftereffect of busy; it is the consequence of a lost heathen just trusting God. That is the reasonable educating of the absolute most noteworthy, most clear sections in the Bible.

· Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt admit with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt trust in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

· John 3:16, "For God so adored the world, that he gave his lone sired Son, that whosoever believeth in him
