Intro: Every person has had life experiences that seemed almost too good to be true. Have you ever said or heard someone say, "Somebody pinch me please! " during that experience? I should dream."? When you get to the book's final chapters, I suppose that is what Ruth is feeling. She finds herself in a circumstance that almost seems unbelievable to be good!
You see, in this little book's verses, Ruth is depicted as a widow in Chapter 1; Chapters 2 and 3 of a Worker and a Woman However, Ruth is depicted as a Wife in the book's concluding section! For her it probably been similar to a fantasy! When the handsome prince swept her off her feet and made her live happily ever after, she must have felt like Cinderella!
All things considered, toward the beginning of today as we take a gander at these stanzas which structure the climax of Ruth's excursion from Widow to Spouse, I believe you should see that there are a few equals between her experience and our own. This morning, you might almost feel as though you were in a fairy tale if you stop and think about all the benefits that the redeemed have in Jesus. I sometimes want to yell, "Somebody pinch me please!" as I reflect on all that Jesus has done for me and in me. We will examine three experiences that Ruth had in these closing verses if you will join me for a few minutes. These experiences may have made Ruth wonder if she was dreaming. She may have said, "Somebody Pinch Me Please!" as she thought about everything Boaz had done for her.
I. 3:13-14 RUTH AND HER Holding up EXPERIENCE
A. She Held up With conviction - v.13-Boaz told her to "delay this evening." He promised her that when morning arrived, he would in some way ensure her redemption. Note: May I remind you that we are currently in the dark? We must patiently wait for our Heavenly Boaz to "see to" our life's requirements! Just to remind you, He is still "Jehovah-Jireh," which means "The LORD Will See To It." Therefore, keep in mind that when the morning arrives, He will satisfy all of life's requirements, Psa. 30:5.) ( Note: Phil, you can have faith that Jesus will finish what He started in our lives. 1:6. Nothing that emerges in life will at any point stop the satisfaction of God's arrangement for yourself and me!)
B. She sat at his feet while she waited 14: Ruth followed the instructions and spent the night at Boaz's feet! She was aware of that because he would carry out his promise! Note: I would simply remind the holy people that Jesus Christ is a shelter from the turbulent breezes and seething oceans of life, Song 61:1-4; Psalm 46:1; Psalm 62:7-8! The suffering saint cannot do better than to be at His feet. Stay where you can feel His closeness and remain there. Until He comes mark yourself off a spot at His feet and decide in your heart that you will be moved by nothing this life tosses at you!)
II. 4:13 RUTH AND HER WEDDING EXPERIENCE A. It Was A Time Of Glory For The Groom - When Ruth was saved and became his bride, Boaz saw his plan come to fruition. He took care of her due to his affection for herself and he was amplified accordingly, 4:11-12. ( Note: "to carry away, to fetch" is the meaning of the word "took." What an image of that which our magnificent Boaz will accomplish for us when He returns for His lady of the hour - 1 Cor. 15:51-52; 1 The. 4:16-17; Rev. 19:1-9. When His bride is secure with Him in glory, He will see the completion of His plan because He will snare us. Companions, assuming you are saved, you are returning home! He will receive all of the praise He deserves today on that day!)
B. Ruth's acceptance in Boaz despite her past was a time of grace for the bride. 4:1-11 saw a legal transaction take place when she was redeemed. At the point when the close to brother culled off his shoe as a sign that he could reclaim Ruth, Boaz took that shoe and kept it as proof that he was the Deliverer and that Ruth had been everlastingly recovered from before! ( Note: We are accepted because of Jesus and His blood, Eph. 1:6. The Good book helps us that in disdain to remember what we were, in Jesus we have been everlastingly reclaimed, 1 Cor. 6:9-11; 1 Pet. 1:18-19. Everything has been transformed by His grace for those who rely on Him for salvation, Eph. 2:8-9; 12-18.) ( Note: We have something much greater than a shoe to demonstrate our affiliation with Jesus! We have the Lord Himself, who sits at the right hand of the Father and is always alive to pray for us, Hebrews. 7:25. We have an "Backer" in paradise Who bears in His body the signs of the cross, 1 John 2:1; Rev. 5:6.) ( Note: By His grace, we are going to stand in Heavenly places in spite of what we were and are at times. I'm as of now there earlier today, Eph, truth be told. 2:6.)
III. 4:14–22 RUTH AND HER WORSHIP EXPERIENCE (Ill.) Following the completion of the marriage and redemption, a time of worship began. Notice what incited their applause.)
A. V. 14 It Centered Itself In A Sovereign - This section demonstrates that God got the recognition for the exchange! This is justifiable because He devised the strategy that brought Ruth and Boaz together, and because of it, He is exalted. Note: Rev. 13:8 reminds us that everything we have in Jesus is due to God's eternal decree. And that as a result, He is deserving of praise (Rev. 4:1-11); Rev. 5:8-14!)
B. V. 15-22 It Fixed Itself in a Son - "Obed" was the name of the child Ruth and Boaz had together. "Worshiping" is the meaning of this name. This child immovably fixed Ruth's place in Israel! This child, on the other hand, gave her a connection to the royal family, and her redemption gave her legal standing in the courthouse records! Obed was Top dog David's granddad! Ruth David's great-grandmother resulted from this! Yet, better than that, she is named in Matt. 1:5 as one of Jesus Christ's ancestresses! Ruth's life was forever altered by this little boy! As a result, Obed evolved into a "restorer of life, and a nourisher of thine old age" for Naomi, Ruth, and everyone else involved. They were all blessed to know the son! Note: A personal relationship with the Son of God is always the starting point for genuine worship! At the point when you know Him, you realize One Who is The Restorer of Life and the Nourisher, everything being equal! Assuming you know Him, you ought to celebrate in that reality! On the off chance that you don't have any acquaintance with Him, then you want to realize that you can, and to realize Him makes a huge difference, 1 John 5:12!)
Conc: She probably had many days in her life when she thought to herself, "Somebody pinch me, I must be dreaming!" All who are pursued and taken captive by grace experience this power!
Grace has the power to transform your life, save you from death, and include you in the King's family from the moment you are a nobody. Do you live your life by God's grace? Do you want to know about Him? This morning, do you need to sit at His feet? Anything your need, it will be met by coming to Him and confiding in Him to do the astounding in your life!
